NO CHANGE IN ABA POWER RANKINGS TOP THREE

Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today released its Power Rankings through Sunday, February 10th, and the top three teams held their positions.  "With the top two teams getting a bye into the Final Four, the battle for those two position over the next several weeks should be very interesting," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO.  "One loss by any of the top teams could make a significant change. It should be an exciting few weeks."

UBC-TV ABA TELECAST TO BE A STAR STUDDED EVENT

Los Angeles, CA.  The holidays in Los Angeles signifies an annual pilgrimage for thousands of fans, players, coaches and scouts from across the nation to the ABA basketball games which are now being broadcast by UBC Sports on the UBC-TV Network (www.ubctvnetwork.com).  The nationally renowned ABA was founded in 1967 competing with the well-established NBA until the NBA-ABA merger in 1976.  The original ABA featured Julius "Dr. J" Erving, George Gervin, Spencer Haywood, Moses Malone and other legends.  Four ABA teams were absorbed from the merger (the NJ Nets now the Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs.  The new ABA started in 1999 and has plans, now that its games are being televised, to compete with the talent level and visibility of the NBA.

On January 12th, UBC Sports will broadcast the undefeated and #1 ranked Arizona Scorpions against the highly rated Los Angeles SLAM in a classic and historical event.  Kareem Rush (Los Angeles Lakers), Tony Farmer (Golden State Warriors), Jeff Trepagnier (Denver Nuggets), Jaquin Hawkins (Houston Rockets), Joe Smith  (Los Angeles Lakers) and Jerry Duprede (USC and And1) will play in the game.

The events will be filled with some of today's top celebrities including Tony Burrell, head of Mayweather Productions and "Sugar" Shane Mosley, Paulette Pearson Washington and others.  The game will be broadcast live through UBC's pay per view, On Demand and through various other cable outlets nationally.  For line-up, go to www.ubctvnetwork.com and click on channel listings for up to date additions of stations being added.

Half-time performance by American Best Dance Crew "Beat Freaks."  The Beat Freaks is an all-female break dance crew from LA.  Each of its nine members had achieved individual success dancing before the creation of the group in 2003 and were featured on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew (Season 3) and finished the show as runners-up.  Hip Hop Artist Joe Smith, "Joe Beaso" will also perform at halftime.

A game will also serve as a tribute of Paralyzed Veterans of America, Stop the Violence and Bullies are Cowards, the ABA's anti-bullying program.
